We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join the Quality Department of our sweater manufacturing operation in Biyagama. The selected candidates will be responsible for ensuring products meet required quality standards through inspections, defect identification, and adherence to company and customer quality requirements, while supporting continuous quality improvement across production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all sweaters and related products meet company and customer quality standards.

  • Conduct inline, end-line, and final inspections as per quality procedures.

  • Identify, report, and follow up on garment defects in a timely manner.

  • Monitor measurements, workmanship, finishing, and packing quality.

  • Maintain accurate quality records and inspection reports.

  • Ensure compliance with AQL standards and buyer requirements.

  • Support production teams in maintaining required quality levels.

  • Perform root cause analysis and assist in implementing corrective actions.

  • Guide and support trainees and junior quality checkers.

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and housekeeping standards.

  • Participate in internal and external audits when required.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rejections and improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • Experience in apparel / sweater manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.

  • Good teamwork and communication skills.

  • Willingness to work shifts if required.

  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

  • Minimum 1–3 years experience in garment quality checking.

  • Good knowledge of sweater / knit garment construction and measurements.

  • Ability to handle inline / end line inspections independently.

  • Good understanding of customer quality expectations.

  • Ability to support junior quality staff.
